We are pleased to announce the publication of our latest research in Frontiers in Nutrition:
“Predictors of impaired growth during the first year of life: findings from a longitudinal cohort study in Pakistan.”
This study, conducted as part of the Child Health and Microbiome Development (CHAMP) cohort, prospectively followed infants in rural Swat, Pakistan, from early life through 12 months of age. The research examined the influence of sociodemographic, maternal, infant health and feeding-related factors on early childhood growth.
Our findings highlight maternal education and infant feeding practices as important factors associated with growth during the first year of life, providing valuable evidence from an underrepresented population and contributing to a better understanding of the determinants of early-life growth in resource-limited settings.
We are proud to contribute to locally generated evidence that can help inform future research, interventions and policies aimed at improving child health and nutrition in Pakistan.
