A PhD student from the NOG Lab received the Best Oral Presentation Award at the World Microbiome Congress held in Dublin, Ireland. The presentation, titled "Oral Microbiome Signatures in Stunted versus Non-Stunted Pakistani Children", drew significant attention from international delegates.
The study revealed distinct oral microbial profiles in growth-stunted children, with reduced microbial diversity and enrichment of pro-inflammatory taxa compared to age-matched controls. Delegates from over 30 countries attended the congress.
